Farewell Roxanne Missingham
Roxanne Missingham has left the building! So the poster advertising Roxanne’s farewell announced in late 2005.
Roxanne, a ‘super networker’, is a person of enormous energy and enthusiasm, with a great knowledge of libraries, research and technology issues. According to Director-General Jan Fullerton, it may well be true that Roxanne personally knows every librarian in Australia !
Roxanne presided over many improvements to National Library of Australia services in her role as Assistant Director-General, Resource Sharing at the National Library from April 2001 to December 2005. This included the bedding down of the relatively new Kinetica service in 2001, through to its redevelopment over the last two years.
Roxanne has had a diverse library career that has spanned libraries of many types, including national, government, parliamentary and special libraries. This underpins her broad and practical knowledge of libraries and their services.
Roxanne’s leadership and guidance of the Resource Sharing Division and advice in the Library’s Corporate Management Group will be greatly missed. Roxanne’s contribution to the Australian library community will continue through her role on the ALIA Board of Directors and various library sector and National Library of Australia committees. Staff of the Library wish her every success in her new role as Parliamentary Librarian as she moves to the House on the Hill.
