Libraries Australia regional launches

Services such as Libraries Australia improve access to the resources of libraries nationwide, and are particularly important for rural and remote users. As part of an ongoing communications plan to promote and increase awareness of the free Libraries Australia Search service, especially in regional areas, launches were held in Geraldton, Alice Springs and Cairns during May and June 2006.
The launch at the Geraldton Regional Library was held in conjunction
with a meeting of the Library Board of Western Australia. The service
was launched by Kay Poustie, who chairs the Library Board. In
About 200 people in total attended the launches and a great deal of interest in Libraries Australia was generated including articles in regional newspapers and radio news reports.
