Appointment to the Library Council

Ms Patricia Scott, Secretary of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, was appointed to the National Library’s Council on 9 August 2007 for a three-year term. An economist by training, Ms Scott brings extensive experience in the public service, having held positions as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Secretary of the Department of Human Services.
Ms Scott replaces Ms Helen Williams AO on Council. Ms Williams was the previous Secretary of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts and in that role served on the Library Council from March 2002 until March 2007. The Library gratefully acknowledges Ms Williams’ contribution to the Library Council and welcomes Ms Scott.
