Community Heritage Grants 2009

The National Library is calling for applications for the 2009 Community Heritage Grants.
Grants of up to $15 000 are available to assist in preserving cultural heritage collections of national significance.

Since 1994 over $2.8 million in funding has supported 661 projects, including preservation needs assessments; significance assessments; re-housing of collection items in archival storage; reformatting through microfilming or digitisation; conservation treatment; environmental control and collection management training workshops.

2008 CHG Grant recipients at the Library

In 2008, successful funding recipients included a diverse range of organisations such as the Aquarian Archive (Nimbin, NSW), the Australian Tennis Museum (Sydney, NSW), Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association (Melville Island, NT), PAW Media and Communications (Yuendumu, NT), the Australian Age of Dinosaurs (Winton, Qld), the Barossa Vintage Festival / Barossa Wine & Tourism (Tanunda, SA), the Australian Script Centre (Hobart, Tasmania), the Polish Museum and Archives in Australia (Melbourne, Victoria) and the Eastern Goldfields Historical Society (Kalgoorlie, WA). Not-for-profit community groups such as libraries, museums, archives, galleries, historical societies, Indigenous and multicultural organisations are eligible to apply.
