of a number of Nellie Melba holdings in the Library’s Manuscripts
Collection, MS 9561 includes letters for the period 1895-1905,
programs, photographs of the diva, and a somewhat worn silk evening
bag. The latter is embroidered with floral patterns, and the name
'Nellie' is picked out in spangles. (See story, page 8 this issue.)
