The
National Library’s Pictures Collection has images of every Australian
prime minister from Edmund Barton to John Howard. Images include
cartoons, portraits in watercolours, oils and pen and ink, busts,
plaques and photographs. Although, in general, prime ministerial
portraits highlight the period in which the individual flourished
politically, we do see some subjects as children or young adults. This
photograph--one of 300 images of Malcolm Fraser--shows him as a
schoolboy aged 10.
