In
a New Light: Australian Photography 1850s-1930s is the first in a
two-part exhibition that explores the National Library of Australia’s
photographic collections. The exhibition encapsulates the defining
moments in 19th- and early-20th-century Australia and in doing so
illustrates photography’s unique ability to capture the moment. Curated
by Helen Ennis, the exhibition will enhance and extend public knowledge
of the medium of photography, Australian history and the National
Library’s collections.
