The abundant correspondence of Judith Wright—poet, writer, environmentalist and activist—provides a profound and moving insight into the life, thoughts and passions of this remarkable Australian. The bulk of Wright’s correspondence is held by the National Library and it has been brought together in the recently released With Love and Fury: Selected Letters of Judith Wright. In this issue Meredith McKinney describes the challenge of compiling a selection of letters that represents Wright’s deep engagement with life, her love of the world and the fine fury that led her to battle on behalf of her beliefs.
