Rosemary Dobson:
A Celebration
Compiled
and edited by Joy Hooton
Each year,
the Friends of the National Library of Australia celebrate the work of
an eminent figure in the world of Australian literature and publishing.
This collection of essays pays tribute to acclaimed Australian poet, Rosemary
Dobson, whose papers are held in the National Library.
Joy Hooton
traces a remarkable career, spanning more than six decades. Elizabeth
Lawson examines Rosemary Dobson's lifelong engagement with art, as reflected
in her 'painting poems' while Paul Hetherington offers a glimpse into
the poet's many-faceted concerns. The celebration concludes with David
McCooey's exploration of the relationship between light and vision in
Dobson's poetry. The book also features a selection of Rosemary Dobson's
poems, highlighting the diversity, artistry and wit of one of Australia's
finest modern poets.
