Tim Winton: A Celebration
Compiled
and edited by Hilary McPhee for the Friends of the National Library of
Australia
Each year,
the Friends of the National Library of Australia celebrate the work of
an eminent figure in the world of Australian literature and publishing.
This volume features four fascinating essays about Tim Winton's life and
work. The essays range from Helen Garner's evocation of her longstanding
friendship with Winton to Martin Flanagan's exploration of Winton's sense
of place and belonging to Hilary McPhee's account of her experiences as
Winton's former publisher--and they conclude with Michael McGirr's reflections
on Winton as a writer. This is an important book about one of Australia's
most important authors.
