This year, over 500 000 people visited the National Library of Australia in Canberra to use the collections, see an exhibition, hear a talk, attend an event or take a tour. During the same period, more than 60 million page views were recorded on the Library website (www.nla.gov.au). Thanks to the National Library’s innovative use of digital technology, more Australians than ever before are now able to enjoy the collections of Australia’s largest research library.
As the Library’s Director-General, Jan Fullerton, said during Australian Library and Information Week in May, ‘It is the golden age in providing truly national access to our collections’.
