Behind the Scenes Tours

Take a tour where you might meet Charlie, the robotic book trolley, visit enormous stacks where the books are stored, and learn about strange curiosities in the Library's collection that have been acquired over more than a century of collecting.

 Building Art Tours

Building Art Tours are offered on the fourth Saturday of each month, after the Behind the Scenes Tour. Find out about key art features of the Library building, including the Henry Moore statue, Leonard French stained glass windows, Mategot tapestries and more.

Treasures Gallery Tours

Take a tour to come face-to-face with some of the Library’s greatest treasures and Australia’s greatest stories.

  • for: everyone (Volunteer guided)
  • availability: Tuesdays and Sundays 11am and 12.30pm. Meet at Treasures Gallery entrance doors.
  • bookings: no, however a minimum of two weeks notice is required for group bookings.
  • cost: free
  • duration: 30-40 minutes
