Reading rooms
You can access the Library’s collections and other services through the reading rooms. You will need to register as a National Library reader before you can request collection material electronically using our online catalogue. Some services you can access freely onsite or offsite without being registered.
The Library’s reading rooms provide access to:
- the collections
- expert staff to provide assistance
- electronic resources such as journals, indexes and databases
- computers with Internet and Microsoft Office suite
- the Library’s online catalogue and website
- reference collections
- photocopiers, printers
- free WiFi network
- magnification aids.
The Library’s stacks are not open to the public. If you want to use material from the collections you need to make a request and staff will deliver the material for you to use in one of our seven reading rooms.
