A quick guide for newcomers
- Information services staff are here to help you or Ask us. Our Service Charter outlines the standards of service you can expect from Library staff
- Most of our collection is in closed-access stacks and cannot be browsed by the public. For more information see Using the Collection
- The Library has a range of photocopying services including Copies Direct. Your Library card also operates the photocopiers and microform printers.
- Users are welcome to bring laptops into the Reading Rooms but laptop bags will be checked when you leave. Leave large bags in the cloakroom
- The internet, journal indexes, databases and the catalogue are available from all terminals in the Main Reading Room. Limited e-mail facilities are available. Word processing services are available.
- e-Resource tutorials and talks are held regularly. See What's on for details
- The Library lends to other libraries but not to individuals, but you may purchase a copy of some items through Copies Direct.
- No eating or drinking in the Reading Rooms.
- Please switch off mobile phones in the Reading Rooms
- Toilets are located in the lift foyers of all floors.
- Why not become a Friend or a Volunteer.
- Bookplate in the foyer has meals, cakes and coffee and the Brindabella Room on the 4th floor has vending machines offering confectionary and soft drinks.
