bookplate is the ideal place to have your wedding, corporate function, convention or just come and relax over cake and coffee with friends. Our café is situated in the Library’s marble foyer, surrounded by the famous Leonard French stained glass windows.

For something different, try paperplate. With an environmentally friendly focus, paperplate offers a variety of fresh, inexpensive food to eat-in or take-away. The brightly furnished space around paperplate provides a great area to sit, relax and work anytime.
Paperplate is in our lounge area on the Lower Ground Floor. There is free Wi-Fi and power access as well as fabulous food and coffee.

Functions & bookings
bookplate caters seven days per week for all functions and group sizes. In addition to bookplate café and the glass walled podium on the northern verandah, the National Library has a number of venues that are available for public hire.
