These exhibitions, and many of the exhibitions by the local cultural organisations, were open for the full length of the Festival. The Festival opening week included an international conference hosted by The Australian National University.
The exciting program of Festival events included the projection of photographic images on to the exteriors of buildings, a folio night when Australia’s photographers were able to show their work to buyers from Canberra’s collecting institutions, award ceremonies for both professional and amateur photographers, a trade show, master classes, seminars, talks and tours.
Vivid is part of a lively program of photography festivals in Australia, including FotoFreo, the Queensland Festival of Photography and the Daylesford Foto Biennale.
Over fifty national and ACT-based institutions collaborated to present exhibitions, conferences and a range of events for photographers, photographic historians and everyone with an interest in photography.
