National Library of Australia, Canberra 9 - 11 November 2004

Conference venue

The conference will be held at the National Library of Australia, Canberra Australia. The Library is located on Parkes Place in the Canberra suburb of Parkes — beside Lake Burley Griffin.

You can take an online tour of the Library building. The main venue for the conference will be the Library's theatre which seats over 300 people.

Getting to the Library

Canberra is well serviced with off-road bicycle paths and there are facilities at the Library for visitors to secure their cycles. There is one taxi service in Canberra, Canberra Cabs (phone 13 22 27).

There are parking spaces for over 350 vehicles and 6 motorcycles. The carparks are patrolled by parking inspectors so you would be wise to check any time restrictions before leaving your vehicle. There are 6 car parking spaces for people with disabilities and ramp access on the south (Treasury) side of the building.

Buses run through the area regularly — check the ACTION timetables for routes and schedules, and ticket options.
