Thank
you for placing these magnificent treasures online for all of us
to share. As a graphic designer, I particularly appreciate the style
of the Flash site - lovely and it works very well. The zooming features
and the hot spots were excellent for examining details. Wish I could
see it in person!
Congratulations
on a wonderful online exhibition. Unfortunately I won't have the opportunity
to see the actual exhibition but this goes a long way towards allowing
an apperception of the fascinating items in it. To be able to see
close-ups of the treasures is great. My favourite was the Collector's
Chest from Dixon Galleries. Thank you.

Looks
to be an important, wide-ranging survey. I hope to visit. My only
wish is that Javascript (which does not bring much real functionality
to a site) is not made the only way to view the high-resolution
images. I would have liked to read the Shelley! The best thing about
these exhibitions is that they make you want to go forth and create.

This is
the best exhibition ever! I was amazed by some of the items you have
here and I wish I could come here every day. I would like to thank
the library for putting on such a show!

I have
had the good fortune of visiting the National Library yesterday (Saturday
8 December) and seeing the exhibition in person. It was wonderful.
I contacted my friend in Scotland last evening and we visited this
web site and I had the pleasure of viewing the exhibition again. I
would recommend anyone who has the chance to visit the National Library
in person, do so. For me the highlights were the words of Martin Luther
King (I guess as a 40 something person - this is very much part of
my personal history too), - how ever it is difficult to pick from
the wonderful items on display.
The exhibition
is superb but the fact that people have to wait over an hour to view
the exhibition if completely ridiculous. You should have charged a
premium for it as a way of filtering those who most want to see it.
$20 for example, is a small price to pay for anybody who values the
experience.

I really
enjoyed the exhibit, but I was freezing!!!!!!!!

I visited
the exhibition last Thursday and was simply absorbed. I really valued
the opportunity to get close to the exhibits and to read them for
myself - obviously why you limited the admissions. Brilliant idea.
The introductory comments while we were waiting our turn were also
very valuable. This site is perfect for those who can't get there
or who for some reason can't get around the exhibit. I can't wait
to show my father (83 next weekend) when he comes to visit this week.
He'll be thrilled, because he wouldn't have gone to see it himself,
thinking it too difficult.
The library is to be congratulated on this wonderful exhibition. I
wish I could be sure all my tax money was doing something as useful
and beautiful as this. Thanks to all involved.

I thought
the site was fantastic!! As someone who was contemplating whether
it was worth making the trip from Ballarat to Canberra to see the
exhibition all I can say is I can\'t wait to see the real thing. Congratulations
to all involved.

The site
Treasures from the Worlds Great Libraries is simply fantastic.
It has whetted my appetite to come to see the exhibition on the 9th
of February. I thought the various websites of the participating libraries
is brilliant. I particularly liked the site of the US Library of Congress.
Such a most interesting site to visit. Looking forward to my visit
to the Exhibition.

I wish
to thank the National Library of Australia for putting the exhibition
Treasures from The World's Great Libraries on for all Australians
to see and appreciate. It was awesome to look at, and to see that
they were in mint condition was excellent. My favourite one is the
Gutenberg Bible. That was magnificent. I thought looking on the
website was brilliant but seeing them in the gallery was extra special.
It was worth getting up early on Sunday morning (the 10th February)
and coming in at 4.15am to see them. It is the best exhibition I
have ever seen. Regards Alex. P.S Can you convey my thanks to the
various participating Libraries for making it all possible.

Although
I can't make my way to queue up for the number, I appreciate your
effort in putting them all on the web page. Certainly I enjoyed
my experience in a different format. May I say a job well done to
your library and look forward to seeing more next time!
The gentleman
who only had to wait an hour was fortunate. My daughter got her ticket
at 8.30am and waited HAPPILY until 7.30 pm to see the exhibit. She
understood the priviledge. Thanks for not charging us to go in, some
of us are coming a long way, and I love it that so long as we make
the effort to turn up, we are free to enter.
Jessica, Toowoomba
I was
one of many prepared to queque two days running to gain entry. We
made it in from 2am waiting to 8.30am actual entry Tuesday 19 Feb.
I was prepared to be astonished and amazed. Instead I left after three
hours simply overwhelmed. Thank you National Library for the opportunity
of a lifetime. Also thank you for the site too - I'm reliving it all
over again (Thursday 21 Feb) as I scroll through these pages.
Ronnie,
Canberra
I travelled
to Canberra to see the exhitition and was extremely impressed. I was
also delighted with the staff who went out of their way to make my
visit memorable. Thank you so much
