: The Find and Connect website brings together records relating to institutional care in Australia. It contains information about and images of childrens homes, as well as information about where records relating to care can be found such as government departments or past providers of care. It does not contain personal information or private records. This website contains information that is relevant to anyone who experienced out of home care in Australia, not only the Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants but also members of the Stolen Generations, foster children, wards of state and adopted children.
Findmypast: Find My Past is a family history and genealogy website. The National Library of Australia subscribes to the World Edition, which includes the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, United States and Canada collections. Users may select the collection they wish to search from the Search box on the Find my Past homepage. Popular records contained in the collections include birth, marriage and death records; census records; British newspapers; parish baptisms, marriages and burials; military records, and passenger lists of ships leaving the UK. A key collection is that of the British in India, produced in partnership with the British Library, and including the records of the British India Office and the East India company. Also provides access to the 1939 Register.
Northern Territory Government: Northern Territory Land Information still holds and uses on a regular basis, many historical maps and plans of the Territory. The Historic Maps Index allows users to search, preview and order these maps.
Genealogical Society of the Northern Territory Inc: Index of Northern Territory related deaths were extracted from cemeteries registers, headstones, newspapers, probates and police journals. Contains 31,000 records mainly from the NT but some Territorians who died or were buried in other places. ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE JUKE BOX PC IN THE NEWSPAPERS AND FAMILY HISTORY ZONE OF THE MAIN READING ROOM.
Sydney Dead Persons Society: The Ryerson Index is an index to death notices appearing in current Australian newspapers and includes some funeral notices, probate notices and obituaries. The index covers mostly New South Wales newspapers, although some newspapers from other States are included.
