1. Any entry not complying with these Terms and conditions is invalid. By entering the competition, you are deemed to be accepting these Terms and conditions.
  2. Entry is open only to residents of Australia who are 18 years of age and over.
  3. Directors, management and employees of the National Library of Australia, the Canberra Theatre Centre and anyone else connected in any way with the competition or administrating the competition, shall not be permitted to enter. Whilst employees of the promoter may not enter, the immediate family of employees are eligible to enter.
  4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  5. The competition commences at 9.00 am AEDT on Monday 1 August 2016 and closes at 11.59 pm AEDT on Sunday 7 August 2016. After this date no further entries will be permitted. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  6. The rules of the competition, including prize details, are as follows:
    1. The entrant must register their details in the web form.
    2. There will be one entry permitted per individual.
    3. The entrant must provide a complete answer to the following question to be eligible to win the competition: Tell us in 25 words or fewer what you would write to Lindy Chamberlain.
    4. Entries will be judged based on the content and creativity of the answer to the question outlined above in condition 6c, by a panel of judges at the National Library of Australia, Parkes Place, Parkes ACT 2600 on Monday 8 August 2016.
    5. The entries judged by the panel of judges as the most deserving and creative, that complies with the word limit, from all entries received, will be determined the winning entries and eligible to receive the prize.
    6. The winners will be notified by email and/or phone by 5 pm AEDT on Tuesday 9 August 2016. Winners must claim their prize within twenty-four hours. After this period, the Promoter reserves the right to re-judge the competition in the event that the original winners are unable to, or fail to, claim the prize.
    7. The prize constitutes:
      1. four double passes, one per winning entry, to the show Letters to Lindy at the Canberra Theatre Centre on Thursday 11 August 2016 at 8pm and;
      2. one signed copy per winning entry of the book A Dingo’s Got My Baby by Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton.
      3. The total prize is valued at AUD $139.95.
    8. The prize includes the book and entry to the show only.
    9. The prize does not include travel to the venue, and does not include travel or accommodation for interstate entrants. Competition winners must make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation.
    10. The double passes are valid for the show on Thursday 11 August 2016 at 8pm only and cannot be transferred to another date.
    11. The prize is not transferable or refundable for cash. The prize must be taken as described and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as described.
  7. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter's control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  8. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  9. The promoter will notify winners when and where the prize can be collected.
  10. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
  12. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Australian data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  13. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  14. The promoter is: National Library of Australia (ABN: 28 346 858 075) whose registered office is at Parkes Place, Parkes, ACT 2600.
  15. You are providing your information to the National Library of Australia and to the Canberra Theatre Centre for the sole purpose of administering the competition. Your information will not be made available to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the Privacy Policy.
