Copies of documents can only be certified by a person authorised to witness a statutory declaration.
The persons who can witness a statutory declaration are prescribed under the Statutory Declarations Regulations 1993 and include police officers, bank officers and Justices of the Peace amongst many others.
If you are based in Canberra, a Justice of the Peace is available at the following branches of Libraries ACT:
Wednesdays 11.30 am-1.30 pm
Mondays 12 -2 pm
Wednesdays 1-3 pm
Thursdays 11 am-1 pm
Fridays 11 am-1 pm
Saturdays 11 am-1 pm
