The Petherick Reading Room provides facilities for short- and long-term use of the collections.
Learning program sessions are conducted regularly for new National Library users. These sessions help readers to use the National Library's website and collections, request books from home, as well as effectively search the catalogue and link to online resources in the Library. Family History, Newspapers, Early English and American Books Online, Biography are some of the other resources covered in these sessions during the year.
The National Library is unable to undertake extensive or ongoing genealogical, historical or other research for clients. If you are unable to come to the Library yourself, we maintain a select list of Private Researchers and Valuers in a range of subject fields, who undertake work for a negotiated fee. Please contact them directly. This list has been prepared as a community service, and we do not endorse any particular researchers.
