Libraries Australia is managed by the National Library of Australia in Canberra, an agency within the Department of Communications and the Arts. The Libraries Australia Advisory Committee advises the National Library on the operation and development of Libraries Australia.

The Libraries Australia Advisory Committee 

The role of the Libraries Australia Advisory Committee (LAAC) is to advise the National Library of Australia on policy and strategic issues which influence:

  • delivery of the Libraries Australia service

  • the broad direction of service development

  • changes occurring in the library community which are likely to affect services.
