Fees and charges

The annual Libraries Australia membership includes access to a range of Libraries Australia services for searching for resources, borrowing from and lending to other libraries, creating and enhancing your catalogue records and exposing your collection in Australia and beyond.

For an additional fee, members can also access additional services for further enhancing their library’s records, and analysing and understanding their library’s collection.

How much does membership cost?

The annual cost of Libraries Australia membership varies between libraries.

The fee your library will pay depends on a number of factors, including:

  • whether your library is a special, state or territory, public, university, TAFE or school library

  • your library’s budget and number of staff

  • the population of the state or territory in which your library is located

  • whether your library is a member of a consortium or peak body.

Part-year membership

Libraries Australia annual membership is from 1 July to 30 June (financial year).

If you join part way through the year, you are charged only for the proportion of the year for which you will be a member.
