Appointed 26 May 2014 for a three-year term until 25 May 2017
Chris is the Federal Member for Fowler and Chief Opposition Whip. He was first elected to Parliament in the 2005 bi-election for the seat of Werriwa, which he held until transferring to the seat of Fowler in 2010.
Chris studied Personnel and Industrial Relations at TAFE and holds a Diploma of Labour Relations and Law from Sydney University. In 1991 he was awarded a Commonwealth Relations Trust Bursary in the field of industrial relations.
Prior to entering politics, Chris was a former Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Workers’ Union. He was retained as the Senior Adviser to the Police Federation of Australia as well as advising entities in the aviation, transport and renewable energy sectors
