My ticket is for 1pm. Do I have to arrive at 1pm?

You can enter at any time during the hour, e.g. from 1pm to 2pm.

How long can I spend in the exhibition?

There is no restriction on how long you can spend in the exhibition.

What time does the exhibition close?

The exhibition closes at 6pm daily, except for late night sessions on Thursday evenings from the 16th January 2014, when the exhibition closes at 8.45pm. See the Mapping Our World ticket page for session details.

Bookings are highly recommended; however, if there are tickets available you can obtain one at the Library. See staff at the Mapping Our World desk in the foyer for availability.

I have a ticket for the exhibition. Can I go straight to the door?

Email bookings@nla.gov.au to enquire about group booking availability.

Are there any tours of the exhibition?

Yes, there is a daily tour of the exhibition at 10.30am. You will need to select the guided tour ticket for the day you wish to attend.

On arrival at the Library, see the staff at the Mapping Our World desk in the foyer for assistance.

Are pass outs available?

Pass outs will not be issued for the exhibition.

Are there wheelchairs and rest stops in the Gallery?

Gallery stools are available if required – please ask at the Gallery Door.

Wheelchairs are available from the cloakroom on the ground floor. (Wheelchair-accessible toilets are situated on the LG1 to the left of the lifts).

Where can I park?

There are several car parks surrounding the National Library. See the map for details. A large all day car park can be found further along Parkes Place, towards the lake.  Three hour limited and disabled parking can be found immediately south of the Library, opposite the Treasury Building. All car parks are regularly patrolled by parking inspectors and visitors are advised to check restrictions before leaving their vehicle.

Please note that parking in the Parliamentary Triangle can be very busy during peak periods. We recommend you come early and allow plenty of time to find a car park before your ticket entry time - or consider taking alternative transport. The Centenary Loop bus provides a free service to some of Canberra's national icons and attractions, including the National Library of Australia. For more information, including schedules, please visit the Action website
