Date: Thursday, 6 December, 3:30pm.
Place: Conference Room & Brindabella Room, 4th floor, National Library of Australia, Canberra
Event: What happens when 250-year-old artworks, letters and journals meet the latest in digital storytelling technology?
For the first time, the National Library of Australia’s collections are reimagined in an immersive sound and light digital experience.
Created to complement the major international exhibition, Cook and the Pacific, this unique installation illuminates the natural beauty of Australia as seen through the eyes of Joseph Banks, the acclaimed English botanist who sailed with Cook on his first Pacific voyage in 1766 – and, for whom, the quintessentially Australian Banksia was named.
Designed by AGB Events, creators of Sydney’s Vivid light show, Beauty Rich and Rare is a unique digital experience.
Join us for a screening and presentation by the creators of Beauty Rich and Rare and discover the story of Joseph Banks with Treasures Curator, Nat Williams.
If you’re interested in doing a story, our NLA Treasures curator, Nat Williams and ABG Events Creative Director, Anthony Bastic, would be delighted to have a chat prior to the presentation.
