Community groups win $428,675 in Heritage Grants

A total of $428,675 has been awarded to 78 community groups throughout Australia in the 2012 Community Heritage Grants program.

The Minister for Regional Development and the Arts, the Hon Simon Crean, announced the 2012 winners at an awards ceremony at the National Museum of Australia on 30 October.

Since the awards began in 1994, $4.5 million has been provided to 966 projects. The program is managed by the National Library of Australia and is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport.
