The Library holds the largest research collection of music in Australia.
The collection comprises of over 300,000 print scores, both published and unpublished, as well as sound recordings of Australian folk songs.
The Library also has an extensive reference collection about music and musical life, including books, journals, eResources, programmes, images, pictorial collections and much more.
This vast range of music and music-related materials form an important part of the documentary heritage of Australian culture
In the Library
The music collection can be accessed in the Special Collections Reading Room.
Music material must be requested via the online catalogue, and is then delivered to the reading room according to our collection delivery times.

Over 13,000 scores have been digitised and are available online. To find these items, search our online catalogue and narrow the format to 'Music'. Then, use the 'Narrow Search' function to narrow to 'NLA digitised material'. For example: Australia
