During National Volunteers Week 2018, taking place from 21 to 27 May, we're celebrating 20 years of volunteer guides at the Library.

Since 1989, the Volunteer Program has played an important role in supporting the National Library's goals by enhancing programs and projects, complementing the skills and resources of staff.

For 20 years, our volunteer guides have led hundreds of thousands of visitors around the Library’s magnificent building, deep behind the scenes and through fabulous exhibitions. Some of our guides have served the Library during the entire 20 years.

In the 50th anniversary year of the Library building, we'd like to thank our volunteer guides for their dedication and passion.

You can meet some of our volunteers in person on Thursday 24 May as they share their 50 favourite items from the National Library collection.
