Applications for the 2011 Community Heritage Grants will close on Friday 6 May.

Grants of up to $15,000 are available to community groups across the country to help preserve and manage locally held cultural collections of significance.

In the past, the grants have helped with significance assessments, preservation needs and conservation activities.

Representatives from historical societies, museums, public libraries, archives, Indigenous and migrant groups are invited to apply.

The 2011 CHG program is funded by the Australian Government through the National Library of Australia; the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Office for the Arts; the National Archives of Australia; the National Film and Sound Archive; and the National Museum of Australia.
