We are celebrating National Volunteers Week 9 to 15 May 2016. With over 8000 hours contributed by our volunteers last year, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the generosity and skills they give to us every day.

Our volunteer program is now in its 27th year with over 70 volunteers contributing their time across the Library.  We have volunteers uncovering family secrets in our Manuscripts collection, listing and describing maps from WW1, digging around in Trove, and guiding our exhibitions amongst many other projects that help us make our collections more accessible.

Many of our volunteers don’t stop their giving with us, they volunteer at various other institutions and community groups around Canberra as well as weaving their families and other interests into their busy lives.
