The Australian Library and Information Association's (ALIA) Library and Information Week aims to raise the profile of libraries and information service professionals in Australia. It is an opportunity to highlight the services, resources, facilities and events offered through different programs and events in the community.

The theme for this year's Library and Information Week is Escape, explore, discover, laugh, dream—imagine the possibilities.

During Library and Information Week the National Library of Australia will take part in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 27 May from 11 am in the Foyer. The 2015 book is The Brothers Quibble written and illustrated by Aaron Blabey.

The IMAG_NE interactive artwork by artist Emma Anna will also be installed on the National Library podium during the week—it spells out IMAG_NE in Scrabble-like letters and visitors will be invited to engage directly with the work by photographing themselves in the artwork and tagging the @national_library_of_australia on Instagram. #imagineNLA
