Researchers from Australia and overseas are invited to apply for the 2019 National Library of Australia Fellowships.

The funded Fellowships support scholars undertake 12 weeks of intensive research using the National Library of Australia's extraordinary 10 million-item collection.

Director-General Dr Marie-Louise Ayres encouraged scholars to apply for the 2019 round, saying the program was flourishing thanks to the support of the Library's patrons and supporters.

"This year we have two new Fellowships," she said. "One for Curatorial Research, supported by the patrons and supporters of our Treasures Gallery Access Program, and a Fellowship supported by the Minerals Council of Australia for research across a range of disciplines."

All applications for the Fellowships will be assessed on merit and some honorary fellowships may be awarded.
