The National Library has begun work to restore the heritage copper roof following damage sustained during the January 2020 hailstorm.
The Library’s roof was subject to severe hail damage last year, requiring the installation of temporary protective sheeting from Stormseal. The sheeting will be removed in sections as the copper is replaced.
Currently, there is no impact to public areas of the Library including reading rooms and the NLA Bookshop.
Retrieval of some collection material will be affected by internal building works, and we recommend that you check the catalogue carefully as we may not be able to retrieve your request from the stack areas in the building.
