Forrest Hotel and Apartments has supported the National Library since 2011. The Forrest is a family-owned and run hotel with close ties to the Canberra community and a strong interest in supporting the local arts community. Located in close proximity to Canberra's cultural institutions, the Forrest supports the activities of major institutions while also promoting the work of local artists.
The Forrest has hosted Library authors, event speakers and staff from partnering institutions. Through this ongoing partnership, the Forrest has been associated with a number of Library exhibitions, including the highly popular Handwritten (2011–2012), as well as Canberra: Then & Now (2013) and Things: Photographing the Constructed World (2012). This partnership has highlighted the Forrest's commitment to culture and its potential as an accommodation venue for visitors to Canberra.
Forrest Hotel and Apartments' support has given them the opportunity to meet with other major Library donors at exclusive events, such as the opening celebrations for Mapping Our World and Celestial Empire. The Forrest has also been able to reward their stakeholders with events hosted at the Library, including private exhibition tours.
The Library also promotes the Forrest's offerings through brand placement in the Library's printed What's On guide to events and the monthly eNews. The Friends of the National Library promote the Forrest to their 2000 members through their weekly newsletter and promotion at exclusive Friends events.
The Forrest is a trusted and valued partner of the National Library of Australia.
