Biographical Note

Harland Gordon Brooks (1920-1985) was an R.A.A.F. Officer before joining the Department of Immigration in 1950, where he held various senior positions. In 1969 he was awarded an A.N.U. Fellowship to undertake a research into Australia's post war immigration planning programmes relating to non- British European Assisted Migration. He returned to the Department of Immigration, as a Special Project Officer and remained there until his retirement in 1978.
