Due to scheduled maintenance, the National Library’s online services will be unavailable between 8pm on Saturday 7 December and 11am on Sunday 8 December (AEDT). Find out more.
The majority of items found in the Library’s catalogue are physical items and are not available online. If a digitised version is available there will be a link to it from within the catalogue record.
The National Library digitises selected items in its collections. All digitisation undertaken by the Library must observe the Copyright Act 1968.
You can also access a large amount of electronic items through our eResources. Many of these can be accessed from home by using your National Library login. If you are an Australian resident, you can join online.
Some electronic resources are only available onsite in the National Library building. If you can't make it to the National Library check Trove to see if the resource is available at a library near you.
