How do I join a webinar?
To join a webinar you go through What's On and register for the webinar. Once you have registered, you will get a email with the URL to join. We send out reminder emails a week, a day and an hour before the webinar with the URL to join.
How do I interact in the webinar? Can I ask questions?
Attendees can ask questions through a Q&A box and a chat box once they have joined the webinar. Attendees will be able to hear the presenter and view their screen share.
If I can’t attend the webinar can I still view the session?
Yes! We record webinars and make them available the next day after the session on our YouTube page. These recordings include closed captions.
Is there a wait list if the webinar is booked out?
Yes! If a webinar is booked out, there is a wait list. You can join the waitlist by registering on the event page. Attendees are encouraged to cancel if they cannot attend and often spaces become available.
Help! The webinar is happening now and I don’t know what to do!?
Don’t panic. You can join the webinar by clicking on the URL emailed to you. This will take you to the Zoom website where it will prompt you to save or open the Zoom program.

Before joining, be sure to check system requirements to avoid any connection issues: https://zoom.us/test

Recommended bandwidth for webinar attendees is 50-150kbps.
Joining the webinar
Click through the link provided in your registration email. Select Open Zoom Meetings in the dialog box to connect through browser, or click the link download & run Zoom to download Zoom.
Note: If you are joining on a mobile or tablet device, you will need to install the Zoom app.
Connection issues
- If you are experiencing any issues with the webinar, first try exiting and re-entering the session.
- Check your network settings to ensure you are connected to the internet.
- If possible, trying joining the webinar through a different internet browser.
- If the problem persists, email learning@nla.gov.au and provide any information and screenshots.
Webinar Accessibility
During the live webinar, presenters will be using audio and screen share to deliver the session. Headphones are recommended to ensure you can hear the presenter’s audio clearly.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide simultaneous closed captions in the webinar. If you have difficulty following the live webinar, we recommend viewing the webinar recording which are made available on YouTube. Each recording is supported with closed captions available, in line with accessibility guidelines as recommended by the Department of Communication and the Arts and ACMA, the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
We have a number of library staff who present the learning webinars and presentation styles will vary between each presenter.
