Ancestry (Library Edition)

To access Ancestry (Library Edition), visit the eResources portal, click the Browse eResources tab and search for 'Ancestry'. Ancestry currently provides the following Western Australian 'Immigration & Travel'-related resources via its online database:

  • Fremantle, Western Australia, Passenger Lists, 1897-1963
    Original data: Inward passenger manifests for ships and aircraft arriving at Fremantle, Perth Airport and Western Australian outports, chronological series, Dec. 1897–Dec. 1978. Series K269. National Archives of Australia
  • Western Australia, Australia, Crew and Passenger Lists, 1852-1930
    This is a collection of records for arriving passengers in Western Australia port cities between 1852-1930. The records cover many different ports and were kept by two different agencies over that time period. The records vary, but most contain port of departure, port of arrival, vessel name, passenger name, rank, nationality or origin, arrival date, departure date, and destination port.

  • Passenger Arrivals in Western Australia, 1898-1925
    Index of inward passenger arrivals at the Port of Fremantle, taken from from original passenger manifests held at the National Archives office in Perth. Includes entries for; Stowaways; Ships Crew (whilst generally noted as such they may appear without a notation as being crew); Crew of other ships travelling to and from their own vessel; AIF members relocating or returning home; Through Passengers, ie. they did not land at Fremantle, and were bound for other Ports; Overseas, Interstate and WA Coastal Passengers.
